SURVIVED!!

There is Sunshine in My Sole! Check out the hole in the bottom of his shoe!

You can really see the sunshine through the inside of his shoe as he holds it up to the sunlight.

Well, I survived. After emailing you last week we headed to Zihuat. It started to rain. And it rain and rained and rained some more....(guess that movie)
The streets started flooding and there was no way we could avoid getting wet. The water was almost up to my knees and some of the side walks were flooded so we
had no option but to go through it. It was really fun though and a adventure. I double bagged everything in my backpack but the water still got through and my bible is now a little bigger then usual. ha ha. But everything is fine. Our little casita did not flood so that was a good thing. I flood proofed everything Wed. Morning. I made a nest for all my stuff on my desk. (Yes, it is cooler then the nest on Master of Disguise)editors note:His siblings got this reference.
So I bought some Boots! But I forgot to take a picture. haha. They are huge but know I can just walk through the ponds and not take the time to play leap frog.
Some streets don't have a way around so my boots were really worth it.
So this weekend we had Stake conference. We had two area seventy come and speak to us. On Saturday we took a two hour bus ride to the stake center. It was really fun with all the boys and missionaries in the district.
One of the Seventy talked about Duty to God and how it is essential to our survival as young men. He told everyone to obtain one of the books and read it.
So, I am earning my Duty to God again. It has some really good stuff in it. He also said some thing really great. "If you want an interview with God, read the scriptures"
Wow. I had never thought about it that way. So yesterday I decided to see what I could do on my part, so I studied prayer. Now the vale is more thin between me and my Father in Heaven.
They also talked alot about members working with missionaries. It was great. Now they didn't hear it from us.
So as most of you know Mexico beat the US 4-2 Saturday night. One of the young men had a cell phone with a TV antenna so we got to watch the last twenty minutes.
(My district leader was right beside me screaming his head off on the bus) It was pretty funny.
The Sunday session was really good too. Both sessions had someone sharing their testimony on Tithing. They were both really powerful testimonies. It is hard to hear peoples situations but it brings the spirit in because they have the light about them and it is just wonderful to see them grow spiritually.
The two seventy talked about family traditions and how Satan is out to get the family. I am glad we have great family traditions.
One of them talked about family scripture study and I am glad we had it as a family before my mission. (I don't like to feel guilty about things)
This man sitting next to me was really cool. He was taking really good notes and he shared his mints with me. So that was conference. Alot of great stuff, felt the spirit, learned alot and made a new friend.
Elder Wake and I found three new families this week and they are all progressing.
We are crossing our fingers to have a baptism in July. We are really working hard for one.
Since Mexico won we are having a game today vs the jovenes(teenagers). Americans vs the Mexicans. Who will win....no one really knows. Game starts at one if anyone wants to come watch....lol
Well, that is a little of the life of.....Elder Chadwick!

(He forgot something)
Hey Everyone....again...
So my companion is going to Cuernavaca this week until Saturday. Sooooo that means I am here with a local companion.
Tuesday I am going with a returned missionary. Wed I am going with a young man that I am going to teach most of the lessons too and then see how the day goes. I am excited. This is the real test. Will I make it.....I don't know. Actually I have to so I will write you all next week.
Don't smoke or do drugs please. It is bad for you health.

Letter to his Dad
I did something to my right foot and now it hurts to put pressure on it. Talked to the doctor about it and he just said to take Tylenol to get my blood pressure up and going and call him in a week. Thanks doctor. ha ha. didn't really help. We will see what happens. I spent like fifteen dollars on a par of boots and a poncho. I am out of money and I am hungry so I guess that means I get to withdrawal ten or 15 more bucks to eat, right? well, you don't really get to say yes or no...or right....so I am just going to do it. ha ha. It is still really hot down here. On Thursday it was 95 degrees. so yeah. hot. Well, I have to email mom again. Love ya.
Elder Chadwick
Editor's note-Elder Chadwick has been told from the first that if he has no money to just buy food with his debit card. We don't understand why he doesn't want to take out money to survive. A mother's biggest fear is that they won't get enough food. I can see why he sent this to his Dad.

HERE COMES THE STORM!

Hey Everyone!
Another fantastic week!
So we received some news today and we have to sleep in Ziaut tonight because there is going to be a storm! The rainy season has started and it feels fantastic.

The Stake President came and spoke to us yesterday and talked about keeping our cool in every situation. We are having Stake Conference next week and two Area Seventies are coming and President Spannaus. I am soooooo excited. We are going to on a bus ride to the stake center on Saturday for priesthood session. I am excited to interact with these great men of God.
So the Holy Ghost is really guiding us twenty four seven. On Thursday we contacted a section of SJ (San Jeronimito his area) and got alot of new investigators. The next day we were walking to one of our appointments in our new area and
the Jehovah's Witnesses were having no luck because we already had contacted everyone on that side of town. ha ha. This happened twice this week. We went to our cita (appointment) and the testigos (Jehovah's Witnesses) were knocking on their door. It was really funny because they didn't let them in and the three ladies were really angry. And then we went up and they happily let us in. We had a fabulous lesson about the First Vision and the Book of Mormon. The Spirit was so strong when we testified of the Priesthood power to seal families together for eternity.
Lets see.....everything is just happy around here. Nothing can stop us from doing our thing here and so it is just wonderful.
Have an amazing week! Happy Fathers day to all the Fathers who read this!

Letter to his Dad

Hey Dad,
This week was great. We are really working hard over here even though the it is raining really hard as you can see in the pictures. There are literally rivers and ponds everywhere. The little pueblo is like a hill and so everything runs down to the ocean.
I hope you had a wonderful Fathers Day because I sure did. We had a awesome sacrament meeting and Hermana Chuchita really was awesome. It was great.
I am excited to see how we handle the rain this week. I am working out harder everyday and it feels good. I am on a growth spurt I think so yeah. We will see how far I grow up....not out. I don't really think I am going to gain that much weight here. Maybe now that it is cool but we will just have to see.
Well, I will talk to you next week.

INVESTIGATORS!

What an amazing week!
Elder Wake and I worked really hard this last week. 3 out of 5 days we found more then 10 future investigators. Out of the future investigators 23 became new investigators. A new investigator is someone who has been taught one lesson (opening prayer, at least to principles and a closing prayer) and has accepted another appointment with us. So we taught more then 23 lessons of the Restoration. We now have over 33 investigators to take care of and lead to baptism. We reactivated 3 people this last week too. We are still teaching English, Piano and Family Home Evening during the week. So we have a lot on our shoulders.
Everyone has different needs, for example 3 need to stop smoking . two need to get married, 5 drinking and a couple with the law of Chastity. Wow! We are also working on getting a ward council together and we need a ward mission leader. The branch is small but I am excited to see it blossom.
Then, last week I made a goal to read all the general conference issue of the Ensign and mark my favorite quotes from each talk. I found peace reading the words of living prophets and church leaders. And yes I read the women's conference part too. I loved President Eryings talk on Testimony at the end of that session. So I have already read the to be talk by Elder Robbins. It was really good and I have already applied that to my life. I have a to be list now. I loved that package.
As for the funny story of the week.....after church this last week we went out side and every one was just chilling. Hermana Lupita reminded me about lunch at her house at 2. Another hermana burst in and said it was her turn. And there started to be contention in the air. We had Lupita on our list and that is what we told them. It got so loud I almost had to plug my ears. I am glad I could hear the Holy Ghost pop into my mind at this point. I was prompted and said, "hey, we will eat lunch at your house and then we will eat dinner at your house." Then the problem was fixed and we had a bonus meal that day. hmmmm....sooo good. Hermana Lupita made taco with crema and cheese. So GOOD!
Stake Conference is coming up and Presidente Spannaus will be here. I am excited for that. He is always a very enthusiastic speaker.
My very favorite part of last week was teaching a Senora named Ismaralda. We taught her how to pray and the spirit was so strong when she said the closing prayer. It was just wonderful to see one of His children connected with Him again through prayer.
Well, that is all from me. Have a wonderful week and don't get burnt like my little brother.
Love,
Elder Chadwick

SHORT AND SWEET FROM MEXICO

Here is the story. I don't have much time because Coppel is a not so good place to shop. (he purchased his new camera there and the flash didn't work. Now he is trying to buy another)I don't have a new camera because of them. I will get one next week. ugh.
I had a wonderful week full of adventure. Elder Wake basically gave me little assignments during the week and it really helped. Yesterday I taught ALL of the Gospel Principals. On the the Sabbath. (Try talking about that for an hour in Spanish) ha ha.
I received your package and the talk from Brother Lamay. I am excited to read it. I almost wet my pants from the first paragraph.
I bought boots last Monday. Wore them Tuesday and Wed. They tore up the back of my left foot. I got a blister which got infected the size of a 50 cent piece. It was my pioneer week. I bought a new pair of shoes on Thurs. They are called Central Park. And I love them.
I enjoyed this last week because we taught this lady for the first time, Carmen, and she was so fascinated by our message. So we went on to tell her about eternal families and marrying in the temple for time and all eternity. It was so great. and then she prayed for the first time. Wow. What a experience. I am back on track and everything is alright.
I will use the powder to put on the rash. I am so excited to wear my new super underwear. (we were told to send him Gold Bond for his rash and different garments made of a different fabric for where he is)
I want more pictures in the mail please. It is hard for me to print them off here. And a pedometer that counts my steps. Yeah, one of those please and a new mini Book of Mormon that they just came out with last year.
Got to run.
Love ya

Letter to Dad

Sorry, I don't really have that much time today. My week was great. Lots of lessons, lots of new friends. My Spanish is coming along great and I love it here. Things are getting better. If you're ever in Mexico don't buy anything from Coppel. I am pretty ticked off right now. I still don't have a camera because of them. Anyway, that is so cool you have a new job. I have the same job as last week.... ha ha.
Love ya
